Life on Autopilot

Set up AI agents for daily life safely: read-only first, narrow permissions, and clear rules before an agent touches your accounts.

Less life admin. More life. (And fewer forgotten subscriptions.)

Agents aren't only for business. The same tools that triage a company inbox can sort your personal email, build a weekly meal plan from what's in your fridge, compare insurance quotes, or remind you that the car registration is due.

This track covers practical setups for daily life, with one rule above the others: your personal accounts hold your most sensitive data, so start read-only and expand slowly. New to agents? Start here.

1. Your First AI Agent, No Code: A Quick-Start Guide
Build a simple personal agent, such as a weekly planner or a "research this purchase for me" helper, in one sitting.

2. An Agent That Clears Your Inbox Every Morning
Written for business inboxes, but the same build works for personal email: sort, summarize and flag what needs you, with nothing sent unless you say so.

3. ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini vs Grok vs Perplexity vs Copilot
Which assistant to use for research, writing, planning and anything tied to your existing apps.

Setups worth trying: 8 personal agents to build this month

  • Subscription sleuth ●: reads your receipts (read-only) and lists every recurring charge, its renewal date and any sneaky price increase. → Build it
  • Morning briefing ●: today's calendar, weather and the three things that actually need a reply. → Build it
  • School email digest ●: ten emails from school become one list of dates, forms and things to buy. → Build it
  • Meal planner plus grocery list ●: a week of dinners from what you like and what's already in the fridge. → Build it
  • Price watch for one big purchase ●: tells you when the thing you're planning to buy actually drops. → Build it
  • Purchase researcher ●: compares options from sources you can check, and shows its sources. → Pick your assistant
  • Returns-window tracker ●●: finds the return deadline in each order email and reminds you before it closes. → Build it
  • Family calendar coordinator ●●: spots conflicts across everyone's calendars and drafts the "who's driving?" message. → Start here

Start read-only: personal safety rules

  • Never give an agent your banking, brokerage or government-ID logins.
  • Don't let an agent send messages, make purchases or delete anything on your behalf until you've watched it work for a while.
  • Be careful with what it reads. Emails and web pages can contain hidden instructions that try to redirect an agent, so keep permissions narrow.
  • Check health, legal and money answers with a qualified professional. Agents can be confidently wrong.

Coming next in this track (planned, not yet published)

  • A family calendar agent that doesn't double-book anyone
  • Using AI to research big purchases (and spot fake reviews)
  • A personal finance digest that only reads, never moves money

We don't currently use affiliate links; any we add will be labeled "paid link." Disclosures.
